Right after surgery, she is out.
I know these are gruesome but she had a lot of stuff draining out of neck, they had a drain hooked to her neck, and that is why she had to stay in the hospital over night. We thought she would be back the next day but she ended up having to stay the third day because she wasn't drinking and taking her meds well enough. A Child Life Specialist came in though and made her a chart and gave her goals to work towards and gave her prizes when ever she met her goals. Not just any prizes, that girl came home with so much stuff it felt like Christmas, she got a pillow pet, coloring books, bracelet making kits, a beautiful stuffed bear, and more. They kept her spirits high and it really helped.
The Nashville Zoo came in and put a show on for the kids, they had trained singing dogs and other live animals. The dogs even came to their rooms.
Hopefully we can put this Thyroglossal Duct Cyst behind us forever. Please let it be!!!
